so there I was hot, tired , and tired of walking arouind the forest and not even seeing a single deer hair all season with only 2 days of hunting left.when every nite at the house the buggers are eating the wifes flowers. So I decide I am done hunting in the woods and am going to be an urban hunter(13 miles out of town).so I set out the next after noon to land me a trophy 2 point(cut with a FORKIE)there I was on the roof of my very own house(redneck treestand) 22 longrifle in hand waiting, waiting, waiting.and then of in the distance (90 yards) or less I hear them (2 forkies) the crunch crunch of gravel under hoff as they cross the road in front of the redneck treestand.coming towards the tree stand I am feeling the excitment of the hunt wait for a clean shot I tell myself you may hit a four wheeler of somthing.and then they appear walking towards thew garden for some veggies with out a clue the great white hunter is stalking them as the forage on carrot stems, green beans and sweet peas. as I am looking at them through the scope of my 22 long rifle trying to decide which of them is bigger and waiting for them to move so I wouldnt have to shot them through the 6x6 wire fence@ 15 yards( not that I couldnt make the shot but that it would be more sporting to not shoot throught the fence. And then all hell breaks loose as the rednecks mate comes blasting down the driveway in her little car hoping out and seeing me on the roof comences to ask just what Im doing on the roof with a 22 longrifle as I give her a big SSSHHHHHHHH wispering there right there pointing less than 10 yards to where the confused trophy bucks are watching the action and continuing with there salad as in preperation for a three course meal.So in the treestand she goes with her groceries( Iam going to be hungry after all this for sure)so back to the trophies they start around the tree as if hiding walking behind the car that had just come blasting down the driveway and around the shed to the main course(the back pasture)humm so there they are saved by the bell dawn has arived and I decide that today they win and for sure they will be back tomorrow so in the treestand I go

DAY 2 final day of the season there I am home from work and ready to hunt have a snack to hold me over and out into the open I go 1200 square feet of tree stand is alot of streching room as the day before there I am in my treestand 22long rifle over the rest(ridge) waiting for that opportunity to present itself . waiting waiting waiting man I hate waiting mabye I should have waited in the treestand until the arived but then what kind of hunter am I man this waiting is killing me waiting wait ooo can you hear that way off in the distance (mom lived a couple hundred yards down the road) crunch crunch crunch that can only be 2 things forkie and his buddy and they are at the neighbors this turn of events after lastnites mayhem calls for drastic measures.after all we are in the last day of the season.so off to moms house I go 22 longrifle in the landcruiser loaded and ready of course fire up that v8 and away we go not too fast clint you might scare them off I tell myself pulling up into the drive I spot him all 6 inches.my arrival has seemed to startle them a little as they hopped 10 feet to the left ( mabye I should have drove faster and jumped out of the rig)and comenced to watch me and try to figure out just what I am doing down here and not in my treestand. so there I am hiding behind the cover of my landcruiser with my 22 longrifle leaning on the back of the rig staring at the forkie through my scope at 25 yards with him staring right back at me.man I could take him now but what if I hit some of moms flowers so I decide to stalk the bugger instead. (now that I look back at the events this is the best part) I think to myself if only I can sneek closer and lean on the railings of the porch I will have a clear shot and all will be well so here I go remember dont look at him he might think you have something goin and trying not to make eye contact I start to move closer and oooooo wait he might see the 22 longrifle and know exactly what the deal is and bolt so what am I going to do I know I will hold it close to my side opposite of him and then he wont know the difference slowly slowly hold it ok slowly hes watching easy does it there I go Ive made it as I lean on my rest he just keeps on staring as if thinking what the hell is that thing doing and I put one in his eye socket and as forkie falls to the ground I sigh a sigh of relife for it has been another successful huntI guess I had better load him up and take him out to clean him ( dont want that stuff in the yard 25 feet from the back door) sorry dont have pics of that one but man the memories will last a lifetime
